Bajra Shahi Jame Mosque in Bangladesh

 



The famous Bajra Shahi Jame Mosque is located on the main road at Bara in Sainaimuri Upazila, about 15 km north of the main town of Nayakhali Maini. It has made a historic contribution to the propagation of Islam all over the country including Nayakhali. The Mughal emperors of Dilpi ruled undivided India for more than 300 years. During this long period the Mughal emperors and their high ranking bureaucrats built innumerable buildings and mosques in different places. Even today it exists as a rare and brilliant example of architecture. Among these are the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Sekendra, the 5th Mango, My Two, the Red Fort in Delhi and the Shahi Jame Mosque in Delhi. In imitation of the famous Jama Masjid of Delhi, the Mughal zamindar Aman Ullah Khan built the Bajra Shahi Masjid in 1841, about 300 years ago, in the year 1154 AH. Even today, the Mughal architecture has been attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists as a unique example of Shiva. Zamindar Amanullah dug a huge dighi on a 30 acre land in front of his house. On the west bank of the Dighi, he built this historic mosque, which is about 118 feet long, 64 feet wide and about 20 feet high. In order to strengthen this mosque, a fence was made about 20 feet below the ground. Lovely marble stones and domes are adorned. There are three arched doors to enter the mosque. There are several domes at the entrance of the mosque. There are only three carved mihrabs on the wall. At the special request of the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah, Hazrat Maulana Shah Abu Siddiqui, one of the great scholars of the time, a resident of the holy city of Mecca, was appointed as the first Imam of this historic mosque. His descendants are still the imams of this mosque according to their merits. At present, Hasan Siddiqui, the son of the first Imam, is the Imam of the mosque.



There are people, if you make some vows in this mosque, you will get good results. So in the hope of getting rid of the incurable disease, innumerable men and women donate money and siren to this mosque every day. People come from far and wide to offer prayers in this mosque
